Veremark helps companies manage workplace risk through global pre-employment checks, continuous re-screening, and secure whistleblowing technology. The company focuses on improving compliance and reducing risk throughout the employee lifecycle while building a broader workplace trust platform. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Veremark Chief Product Officer and Co-Founder Daniel Braithwaite to learn more.
Daniel Braithwaite’s Background

When asked about his background, Braithwaite shared:
I was fortunate to grow up in Dorset, close to the English seaside. I initially studied economics and business at university; it was fine, but I had a creative itch that needed scratching. So, I followed it up with a master’s in interactive media at the LCC, immersing myself in software, design, and tangible computing. I loved it.
For the next decade, I worked across a range of design disciplines, from information architecture through UX, digital product design, and service design. That breadth of experience turned out to be the perfect foundation for where I’ve landed: product management.
How Veremark Started
When asked how the idea for the company came together, Braithwaite explained:
Veremark grew out of another project I was working on with my co-founders in the blockchain space. That project was finance-related, but it got us thinking about two things: the absolute necessity of background screening in financial services, and the broader applications for blockchain technology.
We connected the dots between those two themes, and Veremark was born. At the start of the journey, we looked into how we could use technology to dramatically increase the efficiency of background screening for both businesses and individuals going through the process.
As we’ve grown, our methods have evolved, and our scope has expanded, but that core mission remains at the heart of everything we do.
Favorite Memory
When asked about his favorite memory working for the company so far, Braithwaite recalled:
We’re a primarily remote business with a globally distributed team, which works really well for us. Having said that, some of my favourite memories are when we get to come together in person.
Towards the end of last year, we brought some of our longest-serving team members together in Dubai, and it was great fun to finally meet face-to-face people I’d worked closely with for years.
Core Products And Features
When asked about Veremark’s core products and features, Braithwaite detailed:
Veremark helps companies manage their workplace risk. Our core features are global pre-employment checks, continuous re-screening, and a secure whistleblowing solution.
Our platform reduces hiring risks and improves compliance throughout the employee lifecycle, with several additional modules launching soon.

Navigating Industry Challenges
When asked about recent challenges in the sector and how Veremark has addressed them, Braithwaite noted:
We face constant challenges around ever-changing compliance rules and regulations, but honestly, we’re lucky to be working in such a dynamic field where new technology, shifting compliance landscapes, and societal changes are constantly converging. That creates real opportunities as much as it does challenges.
One particularly hot topic right now is remote hiring: businesses need to know with complete certainty who is actually starting on day one.
It’s a challenge we’re actively helping our clients navigate through our 100% digital ID verification, combined with additional signals we can apply throughout the onboarding process to give employers genuine confidence in who they’re bringing on board.
Major Company Milestones
When asked about some of Veremark’s most significant milestones, Braithwaite highlighted:
We’ve had a number of memorable milestones in our short lifetime. Two that really stand out are our recent acquisitions of Agenda Screening in the UK and RMI in Singapore.
Both are highly respected companies with deep expertise in screening, so bringing that level of talent and knowledge into Veremark has been fantastic.
Beyond that, being included in the Sunday Times Tech 100 was a wonderful way to round off a great 2025.
OVO Energy Customer Success
When asked to share a specific customer success story, Braithwaite said:
OVO Energy is a great example. As one of the UK’s leading energy suppliers, they came to us with a background screening process that was slow, partly manual, and struggling to scale with their hiring needs.
We replaced that with a fully digital, integrated solution, reducing completion times from 30 days down to under three, achieving 100% compliance, and lifting their candidate satisfaction score from 3.8 to 4.8.
It’s a partnership we’re really proud of.
Funding
When asked about funding, Braithwaite shared:
We recently raised $15 million in our Series B, led by Gresham House Ventures, a firm we’ve known for some time and have a great relationship with.
That round was supported by our Series A investors Stage2 Capital, Samaipata, and ACF, who have been consistently supportive throughout our journey.
Competitive Differentiation
When asked what differentiates Veremark from its competition, Braithwaite emphasized:
We differentiate by focusing on connected products across the entire employee lifecycle, not just point-in-time checks. Our solutions continuously enhance workplace trust and help companies perform better over time.
Alongside that, we’ve invested heavily in building a highly flexible technology foundation, which means businesses can embed our products in ways that genuinely work for their specific use cases, rather than having to adapt their processes around ours.
Future Goals
When discussing Veremark’s future goals, Braithwaite concluded:
Our ambition is to become the leading challenger brand in background screening globally.
Alongside that, as we expand into the broader workplace trust space, we’re focused on growing awareness of our wider product suite, including our whistleblowing solution, so they become as well recognized as our core screening offering.
