Verndale Buys Vaan Group To Build Dedicated D2C Commerce Practice And Deepen Shopify Capabilities

Verndale announced it has acquired Vaan Group, a direct-to-consumer agency and Shopify Platinum Design & Technology partner, in a move aimed at establishing a dedicated D2C commerce offering and expanding Verndale’s Shopify design, build and optimization expertise.

Verndale said the deal adds Vaan’s experience building design-led Shopify storefronts, executing platform migrations and developing ecommerce ecosystems for DTC, luxury and lifestyle brands. The company said it will combine that capability with Verndale’s broader digital experience services, including UX, product engineering, experimentation and ongoing optimization, to help brands move from concept to launch faster and improve conversion performance.

Executives said the acquisition reflects the increasing role of commerce as a core part of experience strategy, noting that Shopify agencies are more commonly acquired by commerce specialists rather than broader digital experience partners. For clients, Verndale said the combined offering will include Shopify migrations, headless builds and conversion optimization supported by an integrated design-and-technology model.
