Vero Fiber announced it has completed the acquisition of Telephone Electronics Corporation, significantly expanding its fiber broadband platform across Mississippi, Alabama, and Tennessee.
The transaction marks a key milestone in Vero’s national growth strategy, extending its footprint from the Western United States into the Southeast through TEC’s 4,500-mile fiber network. Following the acquisition, the combined company will reach approximately 444,000 households, including both serviceable locations and markets under development.
Founded more than a century ago, TEC provides fiber broadband and communications services to rural and underserved communities across the three-state region. As part of the integration, TEC will continue operating as an independent brand within Vero’s portfolio, with local leadership and teams remaining in place to ensure continuity for customers and employees.
Vero plans to invest additional capital into TEC’s network to support ongoing expansion and deliver enhanced multi-gig fiber services. The company emphasized its commitment to preserving TEC’s community-focused approach while leveraging Vero’s scale and infrastructure capabilities to accelerate growth.
The acquisition aligns with Vero’s broader mission of delivering next-generation fiber connectivity to underserved markets, including residential, enterprise, government, and education customers.
With the addition of TEC, Vero now operates across key markets throughout the Southeast, strengthening its position as a scaled, multi-region fiber operator and enhancing its ability to meet increasing demand for high-speed connectivity.
Founded in 2017 and based in Boulder, Colorado, Vero designs, builds, and operates fiber infrastructure across the United States, serving a wide range of customers including households, schools, enterprises, and wireless carriers.
