Vero Fiber Networks announced that it has finalized the acquisition of Velocity Fiber, a fiber provider focused exclusively on the K-12 E-Rate market. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Velocity Fiber operates across four states and serves school districts through private fiber networks. The acquisition expands Vero’s network and customer base in the K-12 market, which has been a foundational vertical for the company.

Vero was founded with a focus on serving K-12 schools and has since expanded into a broader fiber infrastructure provider. The company now serves wholesale, technology, enterprise, and retail internet customers across 27 states and more than 370 markets.

Vero said Velocity Fiber’s infrastructure model is highly compatible with its own. This is expected to allow the company to integrate Velocity Fiber’s private fiber networks into Vero’s larger operating framework without service disruption for existing customers.

The transition of network management is already underway. Vero said customers will continue receiving uninterrupted service while gaining access to the company’s expanded resources.

Vero Fiber Networks provides fiber optic infrastructure solutions for K-12 schools and libraries, higher education, state and local government, wireless carriers, and hyperscale content providers. The company is headquartered in Denver and operates through several subsidiaries and brands.

Vero’s brands include Vero Fiber Networks, Vero Fiber, Glass Roots Construction, Clearnetworx, Deeply Digital, FastTrack Communications, MtnMax, and TEC. The Velocity Fiber acquisition supports Vero’s continued expansion in education connectivity and private fiber infrastructure.
