By Amit Chowdhry • Apr 3, 2026

Versant Media Group announced it has acquired StockStory, an AI-driven financial insights platform, as part of its strategy to expand its digital capabilities and strengthen its business news and personal finance offerings. The deal is aimed at enhancing the data-driven features of CNBC’s digital platforms and improving how investment insights are delivered to retail investors.

StockStory specializes in AI-powered financial analysis, market insights, and stock recommendations. Its technology combines machine learning, structured data, and editorial frameworks to generate scalable analysis of public companies. With this acquisition, Versant plans to integrate these capabilities into CNBC’s digital ecosystem, enabling faster, more actionable insights for users.

The move reflects Versant’s broader strategy of extending its core media brands into digital platforms and services, with a focus on increasing engagement and monetization opportunities. By incorporating StockStory’s technology, CNBC is expected to deepen its coverage and provide more real-time, data-driven content tailored to investors.

As part of the transaction, StockStory founder and CEO Adam Hejl will join Versant and report to Deep Bagchee, Chief Product and Technology Officer for News. The StockStory team will support ongoing product and technology initiatives, initially focusing on strengthening CNBC’s digital investing tools.

Versant operates a portfolio of media and entertainment brands across business news, sports, and entertainment, including CNBC, USA Network, Golf Channel, E!, SYFY, and Oxygen, along with digital platforms such as Fandango and Rotten Tomatoes. The acquisition underscores the company’s continued investment in AI and digital innovation to drive growth across its media properties.
