Vexev Raises $6 Million To Advance FDA Clearance And U.S. Commercialization Of Robotic Vascular Imaging Platform

Vexev has raised $6 million in new funding to advance FDA regulatory activities and accelerate U.S. commercialization of VxWave, its AI-powered robotic vascular ultrasound platform. The new financing brings the Australian medical robotics company’s total funding to $19 million. Existing investors Blackbird Ventures, Neotribe Ventures, Startmate, and Horizon participated alongside new investors TreeArc Investment Group, TEN13, Bioshore Ventures, and Alumni Ventures.

VxWave combines robotics, AI, and ultrasound imaging to automate vascular ultrasound acquisition. The platform is initially being developed for upper-limb imaging with an initial focus on dialysis vascular access, where patients require frequent monitoring.

The company believes autonomous imaging could reduce reliance on specialist operators while making vascular imaging more consistent and accessible.

Vexev recently completed a multi-site U.S. clinical study with U.S. Renal Care. The company said VxWave achieved a 94% scanning success rate for autonomous vascular imaging when operated by non-specialist clinical staff.

Beyond dialysis access, Vexev plans to extend the platform into other vascular applications, including cardiovascular and peripheral artery disease, while developing additional clinical evidence to support future AI-enabled decision capabilities.

The financing will support regulatory activities, manufacturing scale-up, and commercialization as Vexev works toward FDA 510(k) clearance.

VxWave remains an investigational device and has not been cleared by the FDA or another regulatory authority for commercial distribution.
