Vikk AI has raised $4.2 million to expand its AI-powered legal platform and develop a sponsored advertising channel for lawyers. The financing consists of a $700,000 pre-seed round and a $3.5 million seed round.
The seed financing included strategic angel investors with backgrounds in private equity, healthcare, legal services and technology. Participants included tax attorney Ronson Shamoun, injury attorney Joe Samo, healthcare executive Brad Jowell and pharmaceutical executive Cooper Collins.
Vikk AI plans to use the funding to accelerate product development across its consumer legal assistant, Lawyer Ad Center and upcoming Lawyer Directory. The company will also expand its document analysis and generation tools and continue developing its Vikk Data Hub enterprise platform.
The consumer platform allows users to ask legal questions in conversational language, review legal documents, generate basic documents and identify attorneys whose practices may be relevant to their needs. Vikk AI is positioning the service as an accessible starting point for consumers seeking to understand legal issues and potential next steps.
For law firms, the Lawyer Ad Center provides sponsored advertising placements within AI-powered legal experiences. Advertisements can be matched to users based on geographic location and the relevant legal practice area.
The upcoming Lawyer Directory will provide another way for consumers to discover and connect with attorneys while using Vikk AI’s legal information and document tools. The company believes attorney discovery is shifting from conventional search engines and static directories toward conversational AI platforms.
Vikk Data Hub analyzes anonymized patterns across consumer legal inquiries. The enterprise platform is intended to help organizations identify emerging legal issues, geographic trends and changes in consumer behavior.
Potential users of the data platform include law firms, insurers, financial institutions, product manufacturers and legal aid organizations. Vikk AI said these organizations could use the information for business intelligence, risk analysis and service planning.
The company was recently selected as one of 30 participants from more than 1,000 applicants for the AWS and Meta Startups: Build with Llama program. Vikk AI also received $200,000 in AWS promotional credits and technical support for developing its AI infrastructure.
The new funding will support Vikk AI’s broader effort to build legal technology infrastructure for an environment in which consumers increasingly begin professional-service searches through AI. The company plans to combine legal assistance, attorney discovery, advertising and enterprise intelligence within a single platform.
