- Video platform company Vimeo has recently announced it launched a platform making it easier for editors and creatives to connect with project managers looking for help
Video platform company Vimeo recently announced it launched a hub that makes it easier for editors and creatives to connect with project managers looking for help. The jobs platform on Vimeo is called “For Hire”
“Every business, brand and agency today faces hurdles in producing video at scale,” said Vimeo CEO Anjali Sud in a statement via Variety. “Our new hiring tool fundamentally streamlines this process, by connecting those in need of talent with top-tier video pros from our global creative community.”
Vimeo’s “For Hire” marketplace features a community of 30,000 professionals. And project managers can filter through the professionals based on their budgets, type of project, location, and skill level. And companies can also post their own available jobs.
Vimeo does not take any money for job listings or the profiles from creatives. And Vimeo is not taking a cut from the projects. What Vimeo gets out of the job listings is a way to attract more talent and brands to its platform.
Rather than making money from ads, Vimeo capitalizes on paid memberships for revenue. And by further pushing itself as a professional video platform for creatives and brands to connect, the paid subscriptions will likely increase.
As of right now, Vimeo has 1.2 million paying subscribers and it generated $45.7 million in the second quarter. Vimeo is owned by IAC.
