Vinson & Elkins has added Lisa Morales as a New York-based partner in its Corporate practice, strengthening the firm’s mergers and acquisitions capabilities across public companies, financial institutions, and private capital clients.
Morales advises corporate and private equity clients on complex public and private mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, distressed M&A transactions, and joint ventures.
Her practice spans industries including consumer and retail, healthcare and life sciences, financial services, energy, insurance, industrials, technology, and telecommunications.
She also advises corporate boards and other clients on governance matters and strategic issues connected to major transactions.
Vinson & Elkins said Morales’ addition expands the firm’s Strategic Mergers & Acquisitions practice in New York and complements its broader Corporate platform.
The firm’s M&A team advises public and private companies, private equity sponsors, financial investors, boards of directors, and special committees on complex domestic and cross-border transactions.
Morales joins Vinson & Elkins with experience representing clients across a wide range of transaction structures and market conditions, including distressed situations and strategic combinations involving multiple stakeholders.
Earlier in her career, she worked as a senior legal analyst at a large investment banking firm, giving her additional exposure to the financial and commercial considerations surrounding corporate transactions.
Morales earned her bachelor’s degree from Harvard University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law.
While at Virginia, she served on the editorial board of the Virginia Law & Business Review.
