Vinson & Elkins Hires Loren Finegold And Ed Comber To Lead Structured Finance And Securitization Practice

Vinson & Elkins has appointed Loren Finegold and Ed Comber as partners in its Structured Finance and Securitization practice in New York, with Finegold assuming leadership of the practice. Both attorneys join from Latham & Watkins, where Finegold served as Global Vice Chair of Structured Finance. Their appointments strengthen Vinson & Elkins’ capabilities in energy, infrastructure, digital infrastructure, and specialized asset-backed financing transactions.

Finegold represents banks, institutional investors, private credit funds, and issuers in highly structured asset-based financing transactions.

His experience includes several notable market firsts, including the first two midstream oil and gas securitizations, early securitizations involving hyperscale and colocation data centers, and transactions involving wireless tower ground leases.

He also helped develop the first securitization of proven developed producing oil and gas wells using a master trust structure and the first securitization of earned wage access receivables for a major fintech issuer.

Comber advises sponsors, issuers, borrowers, underwriters, investors, banks, and private credit funds on structured financing and securitization transactions.

His experience spans GPU financing, oil and gas assets, shipping containers, triple-net-lease properties, rental car fleets, and credit card receivables.

He has also worked on music catalog master trust securitizations and financing portability considerations associated with corporate acquisitions.

Finegold and Comber have worked together for nearly a decade.

Their arrival expands Vinson & Elkins’ financing capabilities as institutional investors and private credit providers pursue additional opportunities involving energy infrastructure, digital assets, and other capital-intensive industries.
