VinSpace has signed a launch contract with SpaceX covering satellite missions planned for 2027, marking another step in the company’s effort to build full-stack aerospace capabilities in Vietnam. The satellites will fly aboard a SpaceX Transporter rideshare mission, which allows multiple customers to share launch capacity on a single rocket.
VinSpace will be responsible for researching, developing, manufacturing and operating the satellites in orbit.
The missions are intended to demonstrate technologies developed internally, strengthen the company’s satellite engineering capabilities and support future commercial space applications.
VinSpace announced in April 2026 that it planned to develop and launch its first satellites in 2027.
The SpaceX agreement provides the launch pathway for those initial missions.
VinSpace ultimately plans to operate across the full space value chain, including satellite design and manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing, launch mission management, satellite operations, and downstream data products and services.
The company sees the upcoming missions as a platform for in-orbit technology validation and development of aerospace talent in Vietnam.
VinSpace is also targeting future commercial applications across Vietnam, Southeast Asia and international markets as low-Earth-orbit satellite systems become more important across infrastructure and communications.
VinSpace is part of the Vingroup ecosystem and plans to develop capabilities spanning satellite systems, ground infrastructure, geospatial intelligence, satellite connectivity and downstream applications.
