Virtuix Holdings is expanding its Omni One full-body virtual-reality platform well beyond consumer gaming, with recent deployments and development programs spanning Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot program, NASA exploration simulations, and multiple U.S. military applications.
Virtuix sold its first Omni One Enterprise system to Tesla for use by the company’s Optimus humanoid robot division.
Tesla is using the system for teleoperation, allowing a human operator to remotely control a humanoid robot in real time.
Virtuix’s technology has also been selected for NASA’s Moon and Mars Exploration Analog mission.
Omni One will support simulated extravehicular activities during a year-long study scheduled to begin in 2027.
The platform is simultaneously expanding into defense.
Virtuix is serving as lead systems integrator for a U.S. Marine Corps Infantry Fireteam Trainer and selected AVRT to provide weapons tracking and immersive training content. Delivery of a pilot system to the Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia, is expected during the fourth quarter of calendar 2026.
The company has also entered the counter-drone training market through integration with LeadTech’s Counter-UAS Personnel Trainer for evaluation by the Marine Corps.
Virtuix received Phase I funding from the U.S. Air Force’s AFWERX SBIR program to advance its Virtual Terrain Walk platform for military mission planning and leader rehearsals.
The company also delivered an Omni One system to the Pennsylvania Air National Guard, marking its first deployment with the Air National Guard.
Virtuix is now evaluating acquisitions that could expand its defense operations more quickly. Its special committee is reviewing defense training and simulation companies with annual revenue between $10 million and $50 million that could provide access to government contract vehicles and recurring defense revenue.
The enterprise expansion comes as the company’s consumer business shows stronger order activity following the launch of Omni One for Quest in collaboration with Meta.
New Omni One orders increased 72% year over year and have increased approximately 150% since the Meta launch. Gross margin also expanded to 30% from 17%.
Reported revenue declined 26% to approximately $800,000 because the prior-year period included fulfillment of the final portion of a large legacy preorder backlog accumulated beginning in 2023.
Virtuix said current-quarter revenue instead came from newly acquired customers and views new orders as a more useful indicator of current consumer demand.
The company reported a quarterly net loss of $7.2 million, compared with $2.3 million a year earlier, while cash and cash equivalents totaled $7.4 million at June 30.
