Virtuous, a Phoenix, Arizona-based software platform that empowers nonprofits to build personal relationships with donors and raise money, announced it has raised $3 million in Series A funding from MATH Venture Partners.
“We have spent that last 4 years working closely with nonprofits to build an incredibly powerful and easy-to-use product,” said Virtuous founder and CEO Gabe Cooper. “Our platform is helping generate amazing impact for our customers, and feel ready to scale quickly. MATH Ventures saw our position in the market and potential for growth, and we’re very excited to be included in their portfolio.”
Virtuous Software combines CRM, marketing automation, and a giving platform designed specifically for meeting the needs of nonprofits. And these organizations are able to operate more efficiently and grow giving by helping foster better relationships with supporters.
“We invested in Virtuous Software because we connected with their mission,” added MATH Venture Partners managing partner Troy Henikoff. “At MATH, we look for companies that have an ‘unfair advantage in customer acquisition’ and Virtuous is exactly that. They have taken the time to create a world-class product designed for a specific customer. Their value to charities is extremely clear.”
Virtuous is scaling at a rapid pace and the company is planning to double the size of the team in the next year. The Series A round of funding will be used primary for growth and the company is going to continue iterating on the product.
“I’ve loved this CRM since day one! There are tools that help create a solid ‘guesstimate’ for what the next ask might be for a particular person. It helps me better understand each person and consider a lower or higher ask if appropriate. Asking for the ‘right’ amount leads to more yeses,” explained Daphne Keys of Global Hope Network.
