Vision Innovation Partners, a Mid-Atlantic eye care platform, has acquired Frederick Eye Institute, a comprehensive ophthalmology practice based in Frederick, Maryland. The deal represents the company’s 28th add-on acquisition since its founding in 2017 and strengthens its presence in a key Maryland market.
Frederick Eye Institute is led by Robert Bruce Hodges, MD, a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in cataract surgery and lens implants. The practice provides advanced care across a range of conditions including glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, and dry eye, in addition to routine eye exams.
With this acquisition, Vision Innovation Partners aims to expand patient access to high-quality eye care while supporting the operational needs of a growing practice. The company currently supports more than 150 providers across 69 locations, including 12 surgery centers, throughout Maryland, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Vision Innovation Partners is backed by Gryphon Investors, a middle-market private investment firm, and continues to grow its regional footprint through partnerships with ophthalmology practices.
