Visma, a provider of mission-critical business software across Europe and Latin America, has acquired MaisMei, a Brazilian compliance-first app focused on Individual Micro Entrepreneurs (MEIs). The deal is designed to deepen Visma’s presence in Brazil and create a full “start-to-scale” product pathway for small businesses, linking MaisMei’s mobile-first compliance tools with Conta Azul, the cloud ERP and financial management platform Visma acquired in August 2025.
MaisMei, founded in 2020 and headquartered in Florianópolis, Santa Catarina, has grown to 3.7 million customers, positioning it as the largest private platform serving Brazil’s MEI segment. The company combines accounting expertise with a simple mobile interface aimed at day-to-day operations, fiscal compliance, and business management for micro-entrepreneurs navigating Brazil’s regulatory environment.
Visma framed the acquisition as a strategic step to serve Brazil’s expanding micro-entrepreneur base. Micro entrepreneurs account for 58% of all businesses in the country, and the segment is projected to reach 25 million entrepreneurs by 2028. With that backdrop, Visma says demand is rising for accessible, mobile-first tools that simplify compliance processes such as tax filing and regulatory reporting.
The acquisition is intended to create a “graduation path” within Visma’s Brazilian portfolio. Under the combined approach, entrepreneurs can begin with MaisMei’s entry-level compliance and management tools and, as they grow, transition into Conta Azul’s cloud ERP capabilities. Visma said the integration strengthens its ability to support businesses from initial formation through scaling.
