Vistina has appointed Adrian Smith as Managing Director focused on structured finance, expanding the investment bank’s capabilities across asset-backed securities, esoteric assets and private credit.
Vistina is a wholly owned subsidiary of Hoplon Capital and provides strategic advisory, structured credit, asset-based financing and capital structure and ratings advisory services.
Smith will work with issuers, sponsors and investors to develop financing solutions spanning traditional and esoteric asset classes.
His responsibilities will include complex asset-backed transactions, private credit opportunities and other structured capital solutions.
Smith brings more than 15 years of structured finance and credit investing experience.
He joins from Morgan Stanley, where he served as Head of Esoteric ABS Structuring and executed transactions involving data centers, cell towers, fiber infrastructure, triple-net-lease properties and whole-business securitizations. He also advised on warehouse lending exposure.
Earlier in his career, Smith held investment positions at Arena Investors, Finitive and Aurelius Capital Management.
His experience spans residential mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities, CLOs, consumer credit and specialty finance.
The appointment follows Vistina’s hiring of Jeanine Arnold as Senior Managing Director and Head of Ratings Advisory in May, another move intended to broaden its structured and private-credit advisory platform.
Smith’s background in infrastructure-related securitizations could be particularly relevant as private markets finance a growing range of data center, digital infrastructure and other asset-intensive businesses.
