Voxela Closes Series A, Bringing Total Funding To About $13.2 Million

Voxela has closed a Series A financing led by Tokyo-based Delight Ventures, bringing total funding for the senior care technology company to approximately $13.2 million.

Sompo Growth Partners, the venture arm of Sompo Group, joined as a new investor alongside Hong Kong-based Happiness Capital and California-based Blue Heron Ventures. Existing investors also participated.

The Series A size and Voxela’s valuation were not disclosed.

Voxela develops VCare, a vision AI platform that automates documentation after incidents in long-term care facilities.

The system analyzes footage from standard network cameras following an incident, with the AI reviewing video in approximately 30 seconds and generating a draft incident report within minutes.

Care staff can review the report, add missing details, and complete the documentation.

VCare also aggregates incident records to show where and when events occur, giving operators additional insight into patterns across facilities.

Voxela said facilities using VCare report that incident documentation that previously took about one hour can now be completed in minutes.

At one rehabilitation hospital, video-based check-ins replaced part of physical overnight rounds. Across five measured nights, night-shift employees spent an average of 44 fewer minutes walking room to room. Voxela noted that results vary by facility.

Most of Voxela’s deployments are currently in Japan, where the company said its interviews with facility staff indicated that documentation, reporting and administrative work can account for roughly half of caregivers’ working hours.

In the U.S., VCare is being used at a residential care home in Folsom, California. Voxela completed a HIPAA compliance assessment in March 2026.

The company plans to use the Series A proceeds to hire AI and product engineers, expand its automated documentation and reporting capabilities, increase deployments in Japan and build its U.S. commercial organization.

KEY QUOTES:

“A sensor goes off, and a caregiver is at the bedside in seconds. Technology solved that. It hasn’t touched the rest of the night. The problem is the system, not the way anyone works. We’ll use this capital to take the rest off caregivers’ hands and give the hours back to residents.”
