Voximplant is a Voice AI Orchestration Platform for real-time communication that enables businesses to to build and scale AI-powered communication systems without managing complex infrastructure. Pulse 2.0 interviewed Voximplant founder and CEO Alexey Aylarov to learn more.
Alexey Aylarov’s Background

Could you tell me more about your background? Aylarov said:
“I studied Computer Systems and Networks, and after I graduated in 2008, I started working on a click-to-call service for businesses called Zingaya, which eventually became Voximplant. Since then, nearly all my experience has been in communication technologies and business development.”
Formation Of The Company
How did the idea for Voximplant come together? Aylarov shared:
“I co-founded Voximplant in 2013 to make voice and audio communications fully programmable for developers. The company was born from the idea that real-time communications infrastructure could be radically simplified. By combining serverless computing with artificial speech integration, we could remove the complexity that slows innovation in voice and messaging.”
“Today, Voximplant is redefining communications infrastructure by merging serverless cloud communications architecture with Voice AI orchestration. As enterprises demand faster, smarter, and more reliable communication systems, Voximplant delivers a platform layer that unifies AI and connectivity into a cohesive experience.”
“As CEO, I set the product vision, defined the business model, and led the company to profitability in under two years, turning a technical challenge into a platform used by developers worldwide.”
Favorite Memory
What has been your favorite memory working for the company so far? Aylarov reflected:
“It’s hard to choose one thing. There have been so many great moments: major product releases, funding rounds, and landing customer wins.”
“I remember how, in 2007, we made our first call from a browser to a phone using Flash technology. It was incredibly exciting at that time. Let it be the favorite memory. The company was not there yet, but it was the spark to make it all happen.”
Core Products
What are the company’s core products and features? Aylarov explained:
“Voximplant is a serverless Voice AI orchestration platform that enables developers to build and scale Voice AI for real-time communications. The platform provides code-driven orchestration of AI agents, coordinating speech and large language models (LLMs) with connectivity via phone numbers, SIP, mobile, WebRTC, and WhatsApp. Developers can mix and match the best components and have them work together reliably.”
Challenges Faced
Have you faced any challenges in your sector of work recently? Aylarov acknowledged:
”Telecom regulations worldwide have been getting stricter, so we have to adapt to meet the authorities’ requirements. This means constantly updating our products accordingly by introducing more advanced customer verification methods and other compliance features.”
Evolution Of The Company’s Technology
How has the company’s technology evolved since launching? Aylarov noted:
”When we launched in 2013, you could create a few apps using the platform, like click-to-call, callback, and simple IVR. Now you can create a full-featured AI-powered contact center using it, or use it to build a custom video conferencing app, and much more. The platform offers many capabilities developers can use to build their communication app or service, including a serverless architecture to reduce time-to-market.”
Significant Milestones
What have been some of the company’s most significant milestones? Aylarov cited:
”From the business perspective, I think that becoming profitable was a big thing for us. We now have 300 people, and we are trying to use our resources effectively. In terms of other significant milestones, we surpassed 2,5 billion successful calls made with Voximplant annually.”
Customer Success Stories
Can you share any specific customer success stories? Aylarov highlighted:
”We are working a lot on Voice AI orchestration capabilities these days. Recently, we partnered with Ultravox to become their SIP connectivity provider to let them focus on Voice AI in the first place. I think that type of partnership is great for both parties and lets everyone focus on what they do best.”
Funding/Revenue
Are you able to discuss funding and/or revenue metrics? Aylarov revealed:
”Voximplant raised an initial $1.15 million round in November 2011 from angel investors, followed by a $10 million Series B round in 2019, led by BVCP with participation from RTP Global.”
Total Addressable Market (TAM)
What total addressable market (TAM) size is the company pursuing? Aylarov assessed:
”Voximplant operates at the intersection of the global CPaaS and conversational AI markets. The CPaaS market is expected to exceed $45B by 2030, while the conversational AI market is projected to surpass $50 billion by 2030.”
Differentiation From The Competition
What differentiates the company from its competition? Aylarov affirmed:
”The main advantage is its deep telephony expertise and robust connectivity, especially with Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). This allows users to make and receive calls over the internet and is used by practically all contact centers worldwide.”
“Voximplant’s serverless architecture eliminates infrastructure complexity while ensuring scalability, and its full-stack platform provides APIs and SDKs for voice, video, and messaging – all in one place.”
“Our platform also offers native Voice AI orchestration, seamlessly connecting LLMs, speech recognition, and telephony, and delivering global, enterprise-grade reliability through a distributed, low-latency network.”
“Voximplant is built for developers, enabling rapid deployment, flexible integrations, and transparent pricing. We deliver 10x faster agent deployment times, a 5x reduction in operational costs, and an 80% customer satisfaction rate.”
Future Company Goals
What are some of the company’s future goals? Aylarov concluded:
”We’re focused on making Voice AI capabilities accessible to a broader audience, including people who are not professional developers. We plan to expand our Real-time API to support both larger organizations and the long tail of indie developers building smaller projects.”
“We are also exploring tools with intuitive UIs and white-label options, allowing users to leverage Voximplant’s Voice AI technology without needing deep coding knowledge. We aim to create an experience where users can define actions or workflows, and the platform handles the technical implementation, making Voice AI easier and accessible.”
