Voya Financial announced it has been selected to continue serving as the retirement plan provider for the City and County of Honolulu’s Deferred Compensation Plan, extending a relationship that began in 1979 through a new five-year contract. The renewal followed a competitive Request for Proposal process in which Wealthspire Retirement Advisory served as the City and County’s independent retirement plan advisor.
The plan is a 457(b) Deferred Compensation Plan representing approximately $1.2 billion in assets and serving nearly 9,300 participants. Voya said the extension reflects its combination of national-scale capabilities with a locally embedded team based in Honolulu that provides hands-on education and personalized guidance. The company said its average government client tenure is 31 years, and that it ranks as the number one provider of 457(b) deferred compensation plans for government entities, based on its analysis of the 2025 PLANSPONSOR Recordkeeping Survey conducted by ISS Media.
