Walker & Dunlop Arranges $86.5 Million Refinancing For Chasen In Richmond

Walker & Dunlop arranged $86.5 million in bridge financing for Chasen, a newly completed 352-unit multifamily community in Richmond, Virginia.

Walker & Dunlop Capital Markets Real Estate Finance arranged the financing on behalf of Capital Square.

The variable-rate, interest-only loan was provided by a private credit lender.

The property is located in Richmond’s Scott’s Addition neighborhood and within a Qualified Opportunity Zone.

Chasen was completed in phases from late 2025 through early 2026.

The development consists of three residential buildings ranging from six to seven stories across 2.45 acres.

It includes studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences and more than 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space.

Amenities include a resort-style pool, fitness center, rooftop terrace, club room with a golf simulator, whiskey lounge, coworking center, dog wash station, and landscaped courtyards.

Walker & Dunlop said the bridge financing gives Capital Square additional flexibility as Chasen builds its operating history.

During the first half of 2026, Walker & Dunlop’s Capital Markets team sourced more than $13.9 billion from non-agency capital providers, including nearly $9.6 billion for multifamily properties.
