The Riverside Company, a global investment firm focused on the smaller end of the middle market, announced an investment in Wall Street Prep (WSP), a leading global provider of financial training solutions and certifications with over 300 corporate clients, 150 university partners and 500,000 learners. And Riverside acquired WSP from Eden Capital, which invested in the company in 2021.
Launched in 2004, WSP educates students and finance professionals through self-paced online courses, certification programs, and live corporate and university training. In addition to an extensive library of asynchronous courses, WSP delivers leading hands-on learning and experience for corporate clients globally through its over 120 expert instructors. With this investment, Riverside aims to elevate the company’s market-leading position in financial training and plans to execute a robust growth strategy during its partnership.
WSP’s leadership team will remain with the business, ensuring continuity as Riverside works to support and accelerate the company’s growth.
The funding in WSP validates Riverside’s deep specialization in the Education and Training sector. Riverside has invested in more than 120 education and training companies, including those specializing in pre-K, K-12, post-secondary education, corporate training, and certifications.
Working with Tsang on the deal from Riverside were Vice President Scott Henderson, Senior Associate Jared Beauchamp, Senior Associate Danny Zalk, Associate Stephen Vanckunas, and Operating Finance Executive Kyle Morse. The funding was sourced by Origination Partner Cheryl Strom, and Senior Partner Anne Hayes secured financing for the transaction.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed. Harris Williams served as financial advisor and Jones Day served as legal advisor to The Riverside Company.
