Warburg Pincus Adds Former Deutsche Bank President James von Moltke As Senior Advisor

Warburg Pincus has appointed James von Moltke Senior Advisor and Executive-in-Residence in Europe, bringing the former Deutsche Bank President and CFO into the firm’s investment activities across financial services and technology.

Von Moltke will help Warburg Pincus identify and evaluate new European investment opportunities while working with existing portfolio companies on value creation.

He served as President of Deutsche Bank beginning in 2022 and spent nine years as CFO and a member of the bank’s Management Board. During his tenure, he helped lead Deutsche Bank’s transformation and execution of its Global Hausbank strategy.

Von Moltke also played a leading role in the 2018 IPO of DWS Group, Deutsche Bank’s asset management affiliate, and subsequently served as the Management Board member responsible for Asset Management.

Before Deutsche Bank, von Moltke was Treasurer of Citigroup and also served as its Head of Corporate M&A and Global Head of Financial Planning and Analysis. Earlier, he led Morgan Stanley’s Financial Technology Advisory team globally and spent 10 years at J.P. Morgan across New York and Hong Kong.

Warburg Pincus manages more than $105 billion in assets and has more than 225 companies in its active portfolio. The firm has invested in more than 1,100 companies across private equity, real estate and capital solutions.
