Waste Resource Management announced it has entered into a definitive agreement with Darling Ingredients to acquire the majority of Darling Ingredients’ trap grease collection and processing assets. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
According to the company, the acquisition is expected to significantly expand Waste Resource Management’s operational footprint across 13 major metropolitan markets in the United States while strengthening its position in the non-hazardous liquid waste and recycling industry.
The company said the transaction will create additional opportunities for both organic expansion and future acquisitions while improving service capabilities for existing and prospective customers. The acquisition is also expected to further vertically integrate WRM’s operational platform.
Waste Resource Management, LLC specializes in non-hazardous liquid waste collection, transportation, recycling, and processing services. The company operates through its Southwaste Disposal, McDonald Farms Enterprises, and Silver City Processing brands and employs more than 300 people.
The company also acknowledged the support of Ridgewood Infrastructure, which partnered with WRM on the transaction.
Darling Ingredients Inc. operates globally in sustainable food, feed, and fuel ingredient production through the recycling and repurposing of organic waste streams and byproducts.
