Insight Partners and Glilot Capital announced a $20 million investment in Way Security, a company aiming to fix the operational costs of deploying and running enterprise identity and access management systems. Way Security was founded by former security leaders Yossi Barishev and Yonatan Rosenberg, who serve as CEO and CTO, respectively.
The company’s AI-powered, agentic execution platform is designed to automate the operational tasks that enterprises traditionally handle through costly consulting engagements to deploy and maintain IAM systems, rather than replacing existing IAM platforms. The company said implementation, customization, and ongoing operational work for IAM programs frequently drive total costs to three to five times the original software investment, making the services ecosystem around IAM larger than the software market it supports. Way Security’s platform is intended to extend identity controls, including single sign-on, multi-factor authentication, lifecycle management, and access reviews, across every application in an enterprise, including legacy, homegrown, and custom applications that don’t support standard federation protocols, by connecting to the identity governance, identity provider, and authentication tools organizations already own.
Barishev and Rosenberg both previously advised Fortune 500 organizations on identity and security initiatives and led incident response efforts for organizations facing major cyber incidents, observing firsthand how weak identity controls frequently served as the root cause or a critical enabler of successful attacks. Rosenberg also served as an officer in Israel’s Unit 8200. Way Security said it is already working with enterprise customers across multiple industries, including Fortune 500 companies, global healthcare organizations, and financial institutions, and plans to use the new funding to expand its U.S. presence and continue investing in its identity operations platform.
KEY QUOTES:
“Identity is one of the most critical layers of enterprise security, yet organizations still struggle to operationalize their investments efficiently. Way Security is addressing a large and persistent gap between IAM software and real-world execution.”
Jeff Horing, Co-Founder and Managing Director, Insight Partners
“As investors, we’re constantly looking for the rare combination of an exceptional team, a massive market opportunity, and a differentiated approach. With Yossi and Yonatan, all three were evident from our very first meeting. They possess a deep understanding of the identity challenges facing large enterprises because they’ve lived them firsthand, and they’ve built a fundamentally better way to solve them.”
Nofar Amikam, Managing Partner, Glilot Capital
“IAM is the only space in cyber where overspending and under-delivering is an acceptable reality. The more time we spent doing IAM, the more we realized how the industry normalized mediocrity and has almost given up trying to solve some of its biggest challenges. The issue isn’t that enterprises lack the right tools. It’s that those tools are incredibly expensive and complex to operationalize. We built Way Security to remove that friction.”
Yossi Barishev, Co-Founder and CEO, Way Security
“Most IAM teams aren’t looking to replace the platforms they’ve already invested in. They’re looking to finally get the return on investment they were promised. We built Way Security to automate the work that has traditionally stood between buying an IAM platform and actually realizing its value. We’re at a pivotal moment in the market. Our priority now is to move quickly, expand our platform, grow our presence in the U.S., and establish Way Security as the category leader in identity operations before the market catches up.”
Yonatan Rosenberg, Co-Founder and CTO, Way Security
