Wealth Enhancement has agreed to acquire RWA Wealth Partners, expanding its capabilities for ultra-high-net-worth and family office clients and bringing the combined organizations to more than $187.1 billion in client advisory, trust and brokerage assets.
RWA operates through its Family Office and Private Wealth businesses and has approximately $22.46 billion in client assets as of June 30, 2026. Wealth Enhancement and its registered investment adviser had $164.6 billion in client assets, including $5.5 billion in brokerage assets, as of August 31, 2026.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026 and will represent an exit for Summit Partners.
RWA is headquartered in Boston and led by Michelle Knight, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Economist. It also has offices across Massachusetts, California, Illinois and Michigan and is one of the largest woman-led registered investment advisers in the U.S.
Following the acquisition, RWA’s Family Office operation will add capabilities to Reserve by Wealth Enhancement, the firm’s offering for families that have generally accumulated $25 million or more in investable assets and require more complex planning across investments, taxes, estates, trusts, business ownership and succession.
Reserve combines senior advisers with specialists who can coordinate financial decisions across different disciplines and work alongside a client’s outside professionals.
RWA Family Office adds particular expertise in trusts, estates and family governance, giving Wealth Enhancement additional resources for families whose financial affairs span multiple generations, businesses, private investments, real estate, concentrated positions, charitable organizations and trusts.
RWA’s family office capabilities trace their roots to Ropes Wealth Advisors, which was previously a wholly owned registered investment adviser of global law firm Ropes & Gray. Ropes Wealth Advisors combined with Adviser Investments in 2023 to create RWA Wealth Partners.
Those capabilities include trust administration, professional trustee services, estate planning coordination and estate settlement, along with personal and fiduciary tax planning, estate and gift tax analysis, tax projections and planning around liquidity events.
The combined platform is designed to address interconnected financial decisions that can emerge during events such as the sale of a business, administration of multigenerational trusts, changes in compensation, estate settlements or major family transitions.
Following closing, Michelle Knight, JP Powers, Nicole LaChapelle and Kristin Fazio will continue leading RWA Family Office, providing continuity for clients and employees.
RWA’s Private Wealth operation will become adviser teams within Wealth Enhancement, while Steve Reder will continue working directly with those teams. RWA Private Wealth provides personalized investment management and comprehensive planning to high-net-worth individuals and families, including integrated tax and estate planning.
Wealth Enhancement operates approximately 200 local offices nationwide and provides services including estate planning, integrated tax services, investment management, insurance consulting, retirement income planning and business consulting.
The combined asset figure of more than $187.1 billion also includes $8.5 billion in assets with Advisory Solutions Group, a registered investment adviser.
