Wealthsimple reported approximately $17 billion in net inflows during the second quarter of 2026, driven by strong demand for its chequing and spending products. The Toronto-based financial services company ended the quarter with $155.6 billion in assets under administration, representing an increase of 24.7% from the previous quarter and 84.1% from the prior-year period.
Wealthsimple now serves 3.6 million clients, excluding tax filers. Nearly one-quarter of Canadians between the ages of 18 and 40 use at least one of the company’s products.
For the first time, new Wealthsimple chequing account openings exceeded new investment account openings during the quarter. The shift reflects the company’s expansion beyond investing and into everyday banking, credit and spending services.
Wealthsimple recently introduced Spend Insights, which provides real-time analytics for chequing account and credit card activity. It also launched Business Chequing, an interest-paying spending account designed for small business owners.
The company’s broader product portfolio includes a Portfolio Line of Credit with a 3.95% interest rate, a credit card offering 2% cash back and no foreign exchange fees, a high-interest chequing account and same-day bank draft delivery.
Wealthsimple also launched IPO Access in May, allowing eligible retail investors to participate in initial public offerings at the offering price. Such access has traditionally been concentrated among institutional and high-net-worth investors.
The feature joins a trading platform offering equities, options, futures, fractional shares, direct indexing, real-time charting, U.S. dollar accounts and margin accounts.
Wealthsimple also introduced Monthly Millionaire, a program that rewards clients with entries into weekly cash-prize drawings for activities such as opening and funding accounts, depositing money, referring friends and establishing direct deposit.
The program awarded approximately $2.18 million to Wealthsimple clients during the second quarter, including monthly grand prizes of $1 million.
The company is supporting its banking expansion with its “It’s Over” advertising campaign. Using the tagline “Banking Is Over,” the campaign positions Wealthsimple’s digital products as an alternative to traditional financial institutions.
KEY QUOTES:
“We built our everyday chequing and spending products by listening to clients and understanding when, how and where they need their financial institution to show up for them. If you’re closing on a home, we’ll deliver your bank draft straight to your door. When you’re traveling, you can withdraw cash at any ATM without worrying about the fee and make purchases on your credit card with no FX fees. It’s clearly resonating with Canadians, and we’re excited to keep building for them.”
Mike Katchen, Co-Founder and CEO of Wealthsimple
