Wealthspire announced Ground Control Business Management has acquired Los Angeles-based Ceres Financial Management, a move the firm says will deepen Ground Control’s footprint in Southern California and broaden its business management offering for high-net-worth clients, including entertainers and entrepreneurs.
Wealthspire plans to integrate Ceres into Ground Control’s operations and brand. As part of the transaction, Ceres leader Craig Shenkler will join Ground Control as a managing director and report to Chris Bucci, Ground Control’s chief executive officer.
The deal marks Wealthspire’s second major acquisition since the firm’s realignment as an integrated wealth management platform earlier in November.
Founded in 2008, Ceres provides business and wealth management services in the Los Angeles area, including accounting and estate planning. Wealthspire said the combination will allow Ceres clients to draw on broader resources across risk, human capital, wealth, and retirement services.
Wealthspire describes itself as an independent wealth management, retirement advisory, and business management firm with more than $580 billion in assets under management or advisement (as of June 30, 2025). The firm operates across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., with more than 1,200 employees in over 40 offices.
