WellTheory, a digital health company pioneering whole-person care for autoimmune disease, announced it has raised $14 million in Series A funding led by General Catalyst, with participation from 7wire Ventures, Ingeborg Investments, Accel, Box Group, Leaps by Bayer, and Up2 Opportunity Fund. The new funding round brings WellTheory’s total funding to $26.2 million, and it will accelerate the company’s commercial expansion, partnerships with employers and payors, and development of AI-driven personalization tools for autoimmune care.
Autoimmune diseases, which are conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, and multiple sclerosis, have doubled in prevalence over the past three decades and now affect more than 50 million Americans. As the costs of specialty drugs continue to rise, the demand for comprehensive, outcomes-driven care models has intensified. WellTheory’s platform addresses this need by combining high-touch clinical support with AI-enabled personalization, aiming to improve patient quality of life while reducing costs for healthcare partners.
The company’s model is designed to fill the gaps left by traditional healthcare systems, offering care that targets the root causes of autoimmune conditions rather than merely managing symptoms. By integrating clinical insights, dietary guidance, and behavioral health support, WellTheory’s interdisciplinary care teams—composed of registered dietitians and board-certified health coaches—deliver tailored treatment plans validated by clinical research.
WellTheory plans to use the funding to strengthen collaborations with large employers and payors, expand programs in high-cost autoimmune categories, and further develop its proprietary AI tools, Care Hub and Care Scribe, which are now fully deployed across its care operations. These technologies personalize care journeys and enhance clinical efficiency while generating actionable insights for both patients and providers.
In just 18 months since its commercial debut, WellTheory has partnered with Fortune 100 and 500 employers and healthcare organizations, including Maven Clinic, Fortune Brands Innovations, Dayforce, and Sentara Health Plans.
The company also works with one of the top national payors. Independent claims analyses have shown that WellTheory’s model reduces emergency room visits, hospitalizations, imaging utilization, and biologic drug dependency—saving thousands of dollars per patient annually. Over the past year, WellTheory has reported 10× year-over-year growth in membership and a fivefold increase in revenue, underscoring the effectiveness and demand for its approach.
With this latest funding, WellTheory aims to establish itself as the category leader in autoimmune care by building the most advanced, scalable, and personalized platform for managing complex chronic disease.
