Westlake Corporation announced that its German subsidiary, Westlake Vinnolit GmbH & Co. KG, has completed the previously announced acquisition of a polyvinyl chloride and vinyl chloride monomer production site in Wilhelmshaven, Germany.

The Wilhelmshaven plant was previously in insolvency administration and has the capacity to produce 380,000 metric tons of PVC per year. The acquisition expands Westlake’s global chlorovinyls manufacturing footprint and strengthens its Performance & Essential Materials business.

Located in Lower Saxony on Germany’s North Sea coast, the Wilhelmshaven plant adds strategic manufacturing capacity in Europe and complements Westlake’s existing chlorovinyl production facilities across Europe and North America. The site also benefits from logistical infrastructure, including a deep-water dock that supports efficient raw-materials supply.

Westlake said the acquisition aligns with its broader strategy of expanding manufacturing capabilities for essential materials used across housing, construction, packaging, healthcare, automotive, and consumer goods markets.
