Watson Farley & Williams has added finance and capital markets lawyer Xuan Jin in Hong Kong. His arrival expands the firm’s financing capabilities across Asia-Pacific, particularly within the energy, infrastructure and transport sectors.
Jin brings more than 19 years of experience advising on cross-border financing, capital markets and regulatory matters. His work has covered North and Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
His clients have included financial institutions, development finance institutions, governments and multinational corporations. Jin is qualified to practice in both England and Wales and Hong Kong.
His practice covers debt capital markets and structured finance transactions, including public and private credit. He also advises on liability management, sustainable finance, sustainability-linked financings and Islamic finance.
Debt capital markets work generally involves helping companies, governments and financial institutions raise capital through bonds and other debt securities. Structured finance transactions use customized legal and financial arrangements to allocate risks and support more complex funding needs.
Jin joins WFW from White & Case, where he was a partner in the firm’s Hong Kong and Singapore offices. He also spent a significant portion of his career in the Middle East, giving him experience across several major emerging markets.
At WFW, Jin will work with lawyers across the firm’s international network to advise clients throughout the financing lifecycle. This can include structuring transactions, arranging capital, refinancing existing obligations and responding to changing market or regulatory conditions.
His appointment is intended to strengthen WFW’s ability to provide flexible financing solutions for capital-intensive industries. Energy, infrastructure and transport projects frequently require combinations of bank financing, debt securities, private credit and other funding structures.
WFW also expects Jin’s experience across Asia and the Middle East to support clients pursuing cross-border transactions. His addition expands the firm’s broader APAC finance and capital markets offering while reinforcing its sector-focused strategy.
