By Amit Chowdhry • Jan 30, 2026

White Cap, a distributor of specialty construction supplies and safety products for professional contractors, has signed an agreement to acquire Colony Hardware, a regional U.S. distributor of tools, equipment, supplies, safety products, and tool repairs and rentals serving residential, commercial, and industrial contractors.

Colony is headquartered in Orange, Connecticut, and operates locations across the Central and Eastern United States, supported by more than 1,100 associates. White Cap said the combination will expand customer access through a larger network of locations and broaden the suite of products, value-added services, and technical solutions available to contractors.

The companies emphasized shared cultural alignment around service and long-term customer relationships. Leadership said the combined platform is expected to pair Colony’s delivery and distribution strengths with White Cap’s footprint and technical capabilities, with added resources and career opportunities for employees while maintaining established customer relationships.

The transaction is expected to close shortly, subject to customary closing conditions.

White Cap and its affiliates provide concrete accessories and chemicals, tools and equipment, building materials and fasteners, erosion and waterproofing products, and safety products. The company operates more than 500 branches across North America with more than 11,000 employees supporting approximately 200,000 customers.

Colony Hardware is a direct-to-jobsite distributor serving construction firms and specialty contractors across multiple end markets. Colony offers products including power tools, safety and personal protective equipment, and fasteners from industry brands and suppliers, and operates 60 plus branches across the Northeast, Midwest, Mid Atlantic, Mid South, and Florida.
