White & Case announced that Alex Elser has joined the firm as a partner in Sydney. The appointment expands the firm’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, Global Private Capital Industry Group, and Global Life Sciences and Healthcare Industry Group.

Elser is a private equity and mergers and acquisitions lawyer with more than 20 years of experience. She has advised on complex and significant transactions across the Australian market.

Elser has worked with major global and Australian private equity firms. Her experience includes private M&A, shareholder and joint venture agreements, management equity plans, equity structuring matters, and broader corporate advisory work.

She also advises clients on corporate governance, corporate compliance, and Australian Corporations Act matters. Elser joins White & Case from Mallesons, formerly King & Wood Mallesons, where she was a partner.

White & Case said the appointment strengthens its private capital and M&A capabilities in Australia and across the Asia-Pacific region. The firm highlighted Elser’s experience advising private equity sponsors on cross-border and domestic transactional matters.

Her arrival continues White & Case’s expansion in Australia. The firm recently added partners Will Stawell from King & Wood Mallesons and Aaron Kenavan and Jamie Palmer from A&O Shearman to support its M&A and private capital capabilities.

White & Case also expanded its Global Intellectual Property Practice in Australia in 2025. That expansion included the addition of IT and IP partner Nicholas Boyle from Bird & Bird.
