White & Case announced the appointment of Andrea Merediz Basham as a partner in its Global Mergers & Acquisitions Practice, based in New York, as the firm continues to expand its U.S. private capital and M&A capabilities.
Basham advises international corporates and private capital investors, including sovereign wealth funds, on complex transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, debt and equity investments, and co-investment structures. She joins the firm from Freshfields, where she was a partner.
The hire reflects White & Case’s broader strategy to strengthen its M&A platform in response to growing client demand for sophisticated, integrated advisory services. Over the past year, the firm has added more than 25 lateral partners globally, including several senior hires across key U.S. markets such as New York, Houston, and Boston.
Recent additions to the firm’s U.S. M&A team include Jennifer Cheng, Paul Tiger, Airi Hammalov, and Stephen Fraidin in New York, along with Gabriel Salinas, Josh Teahen, Ian Goldberg, and Alex Miron in Houston, and Nicole Daley in Boston.
With continued investment in talent and expansion across major markets, White & Case is positioning its M&A practice to support clients navigating increasingly complex global transactions and private capital activity.
