Global law firm White & Case has expanded its Global Tax Practice with the addition of Arun Birla and Jiten Tank as partners in London. The appointments strengthen the firm’s capabilities in advising international clients on complex tax and transactional matters.
Both lawyers joined from Paul Hastings, where Birla served as co-chair of the international tax practice and Tank was a partner. Their experience spans foremost cross-border transactions, private equity matters, fund structuring, corporate finance, and restructurings. Their client base includes global asset managers, institutional investors, family offices, and financial sponsors.
Birla is widely regarded as one of London’s leading tax lawyers, with over 25 years of experience advising clients on tax aspects related to mergers and acquisitions, private equity, real estate transactions, structured finance, and joint ventures. Tank brings more than 15 years of experience counseling asset managers and funds globally on tax considerations across fund formation, portfolio investments, and financing structures.
White & Case stated that the addition of both partners supports ongoing strategic expansion to meet the growing demand from global clients for integrated tax and transactional guidance. The hires also align with the firm’s continued growth across private equity, M&A, and investment funds.
