White & Case announced that David Adams has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a partner in its Financial Services Regulatory Practice and Global Private Capital Industry Group. His arrival expands the firm’s capabilities at the intersection of financial regulation, technology, and private capital as clients increasingly navigate complex and rapidly evolving markets.
Adams advises clients on U.S. and cross-border broker-dealer and investment adviser regulation, FINRA rules, exchange and alternative trading system matters, financial technology, generative AI, and digital assets. His practice also covers regulated platform formation, acquisitions, restructurings, market entry strategies, adviser registration issues, digital asset initiatives, and regulatory considerations surrounding cross-border product launches.
White & Case said Adams’ expertise enhances the firm’s ability to support clients across its financial institutions, investment funds, capital markets, mergers and acquisitions, fintech, and private capital practices. The firm noted that the convergence of private capital, financial institutions, and regulation has created increasing demand for legal advisers with experience spanning multiple disciplines.
Adams joined White & Case from another international law firm, where he served as a partner. Prior to entering private practice, he worked in the Division of Investment Management at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and in Market Regulation at NASD, the predecessor to FINRA, providing him with both regulatory and industry experience.
The addition continues White & Case’s recent expansion in Washington, D.C. Over the past year, the firm has strengthened the office with the arrivals of Christina England-Livengood, Sue Nieto, Ruta Kalvaitis Skučas, and George Fatula.
