White & Case has expanded its Global Project Development and Finance Practice and Global Energy Industry Group with the addition of Simon Stuttaford as a partner in London. Stuttaford brings nearly 20 years of experience focused on energy and infrastructure, with a specialization in the nuclear sector.
Stuttaford joins from Castletown Law, where he served as a partner. Prior to that, he served as General Counsel at EnergySolutions UK and Senior Legal Counsel at Horizon Nuclear Power. His practice covers nuclear sector contracting structures, corporate and commercial matters, and the full regulatory lifecycle of nuclear projects, including site licensing and consenting, waste management, transport and storage, and the commercial aspects of nuclear new build development.
The hire reflects growing momentum in the global nuclear sector, driven by rising power demand from technologies including AI, increased government investment in nuclear energy, and an expanding range of financing options for new projects.
