White & Case announced that Oreste Cipolla has joined the firm as a partner in New York.

The addition expands the firm’s Global Mergers & Acquisitions practice and Global Private Capital Industry Group.

Cipolla advises private equity and venture capital sponsors, portfolio companies, and strategic multinational businesses on domestic and cross-border transactions.

His practice includes leveraged buyouts, strategic partnerships, joint ventures, growth investments, structured capital financings, buy-side and sell-side secondaries, and co-investment strategies.

Cipolla joins White & Case from Goodwin Procter, where he was co-leader of its Secondaries Practice.

White & Case said Cipolla brings sponsor-side experience in complex cross-border transactions and adds depth at the intersection of investments, funds, and secondaries.

The firm also said his experience in secondary transactions and continuation structures will strengthen its ability to advise private equity clients as sponsors seek more flexible strategies for managing liquidity, risk, and deal execution.

Cipolla’s arrival continues a period of significant expansion for White & Case’s M&A practice. The firm said more than 25 lateral partners have joined the practice globally over the past year.

Recent U.S.-based additions include Andrea Basham, Jennifer Cheng, Dario de Martino, Stephen Fraidin, Airi Hammalov, Sašo Kraner, and Paul Tiger in New York; Ian Goldberg, Alex Miron, Gabriel Salinas, and Josh Teahen in Houston; Jalpit Amin in Chicago; Susan Nieto in Washington, D.C.; and Nicole Daley in Boston.
