White & Case has expanded its Global Tax Practice with the addition of Alejandro Santoyo as a partner in Mexico City, strengthening the firm’s capabilities across Latin America and in cross-border matters involving the US and Mexico.
Santoyo is a tax advisor in the Latin American financial market with more than 30 years of experience, focusing on the tax structuring of M&A and corporate finance transactions, as well as the structuring, investment, and divestment of private equity funds. He also advises on initial public offerings across asset classes and on wealth planning matters for family offices. White & Case said Santoyo is also a certified public accountant, bringing legal and financial expertise to complex transactions in Mexico.
Firm leadership framed the hire as part of rising demand for integrated, multi-jurisdiction tax advice as deal structures grow more complex. White & Case also pointed to transaction drivers in Latin America where tax considerations can shape deal rationale, structure, and execution, particularly in M&A, finance, and infrastructure.
Santoyo’s arrival continues the firm’s recent strategic growth in its Global Tax Practice, following the additions of partners Arun Birla and Jiten Tank in London; Cyril Valentin in Paris; Kevin Spencer and Michael Sykes in Washington, DC; and Catherine Hill in London.
