White & Case: Airi Hammalov Joins Global Law Firm As M&A Partner In New York

Global law firm White & Case LLP has expanded its Global Mergers & Acquisitions practice with the addition of Airi Hammalov as a partner in New York, reinforcing the firm’s focus on cross-border dealmaking and transatlantic growth.

Hammalov advises corporations, private equity sponsors and portfolio companies on complex domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. Her experience includes strategic and sponsor-backed investments, joint ventures and leveraged buyouts. She is fluent in several languages and joins White & Case from another law firm, where she served as a partner.

Her arrival comes as White & Case continues to prioritize the expansion of its global M&A platform amid increasing cross-border transaction activity. The firm has added more than 33 lateral partners to its Corporate practice since the beginning of 2025, strengthening its capabilities across key financial centers.

Recent high-profile additions in New York include Stephen Fraidin and Richard Brand, along with Elizabeth Holland, Jonathan Polkes, Stacy Nettleton and Adam Banks. In London, the firm has added Richard Browne, Helen Croke, Henry Birch, Arun Birla, Jiten Tank, David Stone, Adrian Dykes and Karla Hughes. In Paris, Cyril Valentin, Antoine Mercier, Sarah Fleury and Romain Guénin have joined, while Alberto Sepulveda joined in Mexico City and Nicholas Mitrokostas in Boston.

Hammalov was recognized as The Deal’s “Top Rising Star in M&A and Private Equity” in 2021. She also serves as the Honorary Consul of Estonia in New York.
