White & Case has expanded its Investment Funds Practice and Global Private Capital Industry Group with the hire of Chris Jeanes as a partner in London, adding further depth in fund formation and secondaries advisory work for private capital sponsors and sovereign clients.

Jeanes joins from Akin Gump, where he was counsel, and brings more than a decade of experience advising private equity firms, sovereign wealth funds, and other investors. His work spans fundraisings and secondary transactions, including GP-led continuation vehicles and large portfolio acquisitions and sales of fund interests.

White & Case Chair Heather McDevitt said demand for funds advice is accelerating among private capital sponsors and sovereign clients, calling the area a strategic priority for the firm. Emily Brown, a White & Case partner and co-head of the Global Private Capital Industry Group, said Jeanes’ arrival broadens the firm’s ability to advise clients on complex, cross-border matters amid a growing pipeline of work.

The hire continues White & Case’s recent investment in its global funds platform, including additions of funds and secondaries partners in London, Luxembourg, Dubai, New York, Boston and Tokyo, as well as senior lateral hires in fund finance in London and New York.
