Global law firm White & Case announced it has expanded its Global Tax Practice and its Global Energy Industry Group by adding Michael Sykes as a partner in Washington, DC.
Sykes advises on tax incentives for energy transition projects, with an emphasis on the federal tax benefits provided under the IRA. And his experience spans solar, wind, storage, manufacturing, carbon capture, green and blue hydrogen production, and clean fuel and SAF production projects.
White & Case lawyers have been at the forefront of energy transition and worked on billions of dollars of renewables projects and tax incentives since passage of the IRA.
Sykes builds on recent energy transition arrivals to the firm in the US, such as Nadav Klugman, a leading Project Finance partner who joined the firm’s Chicago office earlier in 2024, and partner Jeffrey Davis, a leading tax practitioner in the renewable energy industry who joined the Firm’s Washington, DC office in 2023.
