White & Case has strengthened its capabilities in mergers and acquisitions, energy, and sustainability by welcoming Peter Trimarchi as a partner in its New York office. This move supports the firm’s ongoing expansion of its Global M&A Practice, Global Energy Industry Group, and Sustainability & Responsible Business Practice.
Trimarchi brings extensive experience in environmental law, advising clients on regulatory compliance in corporate transactions and the development of renewable energy projects. His work includes navigating ecological and land-use permitting for large-scale infrastructure and energy initiatives, guiding lenders on environmental risks, and addressing complex issues such as climate change, ESG factors, and PFAS-related concerns. He also represents clients in environmental litigation and enforcement matters.
This appointment marks a return for Trimarchi, who previously served as an associate at White & Case from 2001 to 2007 before becoming a partner at another firm. His rejoining adds depth to the firm’s environmental expertise at a time when regulatory scrutiny and sustainability considerations are increasingly central to corporate strategy and investment decisions.
Trimarchi’s arrival follows other recent additions to the firm’s energy practice, including John Donaleski in New York and Patrick Johnson in Houston, both of whom specialize in project development and finance. These hires reflect White & Case’s commitment to building a team capable of advising clients on the legal and regulatory challenges of energy transition, infrastructure development, and responsible business practices across global markets.
