Global law firm White & Case has expanded its Global Project Development and Finance Practice and Global Energy Industry Group with the addition of Ruta Kalvaitis Skučas as a partner in Washington, DC.

The firm said Kalvaitis Skučas brings deep experience advising on US federal and state regulatory aspects of energy matters, including compliance and enforcement issues affecting power companies, energy traders, and transmission and renewables developers across electricity, solar, onshore and offshore wind, hydroelectricity, and waste-to-energy. White & Case highlighted her extensive work before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), including a significant portion of her career spent as a lawyer in FERC’s Office of the General Counsel.

White & Case also positioned the move as part of broader growth in its international energy capabilities, noting a series of recent partner additions across Washington, DC, Houston, London, and New York intended to strengthen the firm’s integrated, cross-border offering across the lifecycle of US power projects.
