  • Arista Networks (NYSE:ANET) announced this week that it entered into a definitive agreement to buy Awake Security. These are the details.

Cognitive cloud networking leader Arista Networks (NYSE:ANET) announced this week that it entered into a definitive agreement to buy Awake Security — which is a Network Detection and Response (NDR) platform provider that combines AI with human expertise to autonomously hunt and respond to insider and external threats.

The Awake platform is known for bringing great value with outstanding return-on-investment between features and cost within the NDR market and it is ranked #1 by Enterprise Management Associates (EMA). And Awake is also widely acknowledged for NDR technical leadership by Emerging Technology Research, IT Central Station, and Frost & Sullivan. Last year, Awake received Frost & Sullivan’s Visionary Innovation Leadership Award for its innovation, high customer satisfaction, and overall performance.

The deal is expected to close in Arista’s fiscal Q4 FY2020, subject to customary closing conditions including regulatory approvals. And this acquisition is not expected to have a material impact on fiscal 2020 operating results.

Awake Security CEO Rahul Kashyap noted that his company knew from the beginning of their discussions with Arista that it would be an instant fit as they would be bringing together “two remarkable teams” for delivering world-class security to the network fabric.

By combining their technologies, the two companies can provide organizations with unparalleled situational awareness of its digital assets as well as the ability to fully assess security risks and respond to threats in real-time.
