Deloitte Canada recently announced it is buying Global IO — which is known as a worldwide leader in integrated operations (IO) in the areas of mining, energy, and utilities. Launched in Perth, Australia in 2014, Global IO operates around the world with additional offices in Montreal and Vancouver in Canada, and Santiago in Chile.
Going forward, Global IO leadership will join Deloitte consulting practices in Canada, Chile, and Australia as part of the company’s operations transformation offering. And this will enhance Deloitte’s capabilities and reputation within the space to offer clients a complete delivery of operational transformation services.
“This is an important step towards creating a one-stop-shop for Deloitte clients on a global scale,” said Deloitte Global Mining and Metals Leader Andrew Swart. “Deloitte firms have previously collaborated with Global IO on several large engagements. The acquisition of Global IO adds crucial depth and breadth to Deloitte capabilities, and improves the ability of Deloitte firms to support clients in their journey of operational transformation.”
This acquisition will further Deloitte’s qualifications in delivering end-to-end integrated operations projects and expand available services to Global IO’s clients in the areas of change management, project management, analytics, and digital strategy.

Global IO’s personnel of qualified professionals in design, implementation, operations management process, and integrated operations deployments in mining, energy, and utilities are going to operate from Montreal, Vancouver, and Calgary (Deloitte Canada), Santiago (Deloitte Chile), and Perth (Deloitte Australia). And Global IO partners joining Deloitte include Dominic Collins, now a partner at Deloitte Chile; Pieter Lottering, now a principal at Deloitte Australia; and Eamonn Treacy, now a director at Deloitte Canada.
