PLS Logistics Services announced that it has acquired The AGL Group, an international freight forwarder and supply chain company based in Weymouth, Massachusetts.
The acquisition expands PLS Logistics’ non-asset-based service portfolio and strengthens its position as a third-party logistics provider. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Through the acquisition, PLS adds international forwarding capabilities, including drayage, ocean freight, and customs brokerage. These services complement PLS’ existing domestic freight solutions, including truckload, less-than-truckload, transportation management systems, and managed services.
The AGL Group has more than 40 years of experience in domestic, import, and export freight solutions. The company has a team of 76 specialists and a global partner network of more than 600 providers.
PLS said the acquisition enhances its market position, diversifies its customer base, and expands its product portfolio. The combination is expected to create new opportunities for customers and employees of both companies.
The AGL Group will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary of PLS Logistics. Steve Zambo will remain CEO of The AGL Group and will report to PLS President Steven Bergan.
PLS Logistics Services provides managed transportation and end-to-end supply chain solutions across North America and beyond. The company uses people, process, and proprietary technology to provide visibility, capacity, and confidence for businesses that depend on their supply chains.
