Salesforce.com, inc. (NYSE: CRM) has signed a definitive agreement to buy Mobify. The deal was officially announced by Mobify CEO Igor Faletski.

Faletski said that this deal is a “natural extension of our multi-year partnership with Salesforce.” Mobify is going to provide Salesforce Commerce Cloud with a modern storefront solution that will allow brands to customize their commerce experiences faster and more frequently, deliver an enhanced shopping experience across any channel, and further increase conversion and revenue to drive success in the digital-first economy.

Brands like Under Armour and Shiseido are tapping on Mobify to provide a modern progressive web app experience and the infrastructure to host, scale, and secure their digital storefronts in a headless environment so they are able to stay ahead of customer demands and deliver fast experiences across all devices.

As delivering modern digital experiences is more important than ever, the world is transitioning to a digital-first economy and online has become the lifeline for many businesses. Salesforce’s Q2 Shopping Index reveals that global digital commerce revenue in Q2 grew by 71% compared to the previous year.

Once the transaction is closed, the Mobify team will join Salesforce.
