Why Schneider Geospatial Acquired New England GeoSystems

By Amit Chowdhry • Jun 26, 2026

Schneider Geospatial announced that it has acquired New England GeoSystems, a Connecticut-based geospatial software and services company serving municipalities across the Northeast.

Schneider Geospatial is a portfolio company of Align Capital Partners and provides GIS-based SaaS solutions for parcel management, permitting and licensing, and asset management for the government technology sector.

As part of the acquisition, New England GeoSystems’ MapExpress solution will be integrated into Schneider Geospatial’s Beacon platform. Beacon is used by more than 1,000 local government jurisdictions across 35 states.

New England GeoSystems has spent nearly two decades helping municipalities develop and maintain GIS programs. Its software and services support planning, public works, assessment, infrastructure management, citizen engagement, and public access to information.

The acquisition expands Schneider Geospatial’s municipal GIS expertise and strengthens its presence in the Northeast. It also adds a team with long-standing experience supporting local governments through evolving technology needs and changes in municipal administration.

Brian Dooley, managing member of New England GeoSystems, will join Schneider Geospatial along with the current New England GeoSystems team.

Together, the combined organization will provide local governments with broader access to geospatial expertise, cloud-based technologies, and integrated solutions that connect mapping, property data, permitting, licensing, and asset management workflows.

New England GeoSystems marks Schneider Geospatial’s eighth add-on acquisition since Align Capital Partners acquired the company in June 2022.

Align Capital Partners manages $3.2 billion in committed capital and invests in lower-middle-market companies across business services, technology, specialty manufacturing, and distribution.
