Why TrueFoundry Acquired Seldon AI

TrueFoundry announced that it has acquired Seldon AI, a UK-based AI deployment platform focused on real-time inferencing, serving, and large-scale deployments.

The acquisition gives Seldon enterprise customers a direct path to TrueFoundry’s AI Gateway platform and agentic AI capabilities while continuing to use their existing Kubernetes infrastructure.

TrueFoundry is an enterprise AI infrastructure platform focused on helping companies build, observe, and govern agentic AI applications. Its AI Gateway provides a unified control plane for connecting, observing, and governing models, agents, and tool endpoints.

Seldon was founded in 2014 and built for large enterprises in sectors such as banking, retail, telecommunications, insurance, and gaming, where real-time AI use cases are mission-critical.

Seldon’s open-source core, Seldon Core, has been used by enterprises for production-grade real-time inference, A/B testing, canary rollouts, and observability at scale.

The companies said the acquisition brings together two platforms with a common architectural foundation: portable, cloud-agnostic deployment built on Kubernetes infrastructure that enterprises already operate.

With the acquisition, existing Seldon customers will gain a lower-disruption path to blend traditional predictive models with large language models and autonomous agents without replacing existing infrastructure.

TrueFoundry said enterprise AI teams are increasingly running traditional machine learning and agentic workflows side by side, creating operational silos and duplicated governance requirements.

By combining Seldon’s production-grade MLOps foundation with TrueFoundry’s agentic AI control plane, the combined platform is designed to give enterprises one place to deploy, observe, and govern AI systems across stages.

TrueFoundry said its AI Gateway was recognized in the 2025 Gartner Market Guide for AI Gateways and has helped enterprises reduce AI deployment timelines by more than 50%.

The acquisition follows TrueFoundry’s launch of Agent Gateway, a unified control plane for enterprises deploying AI agents at scale.

TrueFoundry said its platform processes more than 1 trillion tokens per day through its AI Gateway and manages more than 1,000 clusters through its agentic deployment platform.

KEY QUOTES:

“Enterprise AI teams are running traditional ML and agentic workflows side by side and managing them as two separate infrastructure problems. Seldon built the production-grade MLOps foundation that the world’s most demanding enterprises rely on. TrueFoundry brings the control plane for the Agentic AI world, and together we give enterprise teams one place to deploy, observe, and govern Agentic AI at every stage.”

Nikunj Bajaj, Co-Founder and CEO of TrueFoundry

“TrueFoundry and Seldon have been building toward the same goal of getting enterprise AI into production reliably and at scale. This acquisition gives our customers a leapfrog opportunity – a single platform that handles everything from real-time ML inference to the ability to now accelerate our clients’ agentic AI needs, all based on the same Kubernetes infrastructure they’ve spent years building on.”
