Wickes Group reported continued volume-driven growth in the first half of 2026, with revenue increasing 2.1% to £865.3 million and adjusted profit before tax rising 1.1% to £27.6 million.
Statutory profit before tax increased to £24.6 million from £24.2 million, while the company ended the period with £151.6 million of net cash after growth investments and shareholder returns. Wickes increased its interim dividend 2.8% to 3.7p per share.
Retail revenue increased 0.8% despite a 2.4% deflationary pricing environment, while Design & Installation revenue grew 5.7% as project volumes increased.
TradePro remained a significant growth driver. Sales increased 5% and active membership climbed to a record 671,000 from 615,000 a year earlier. Wickes also continued gaining retail market share, particularly in decorative products, gardening and timber.
Design & Installation delivered its fifth consecutive quarter of sales growth, supported by demand for Wickes Bespoke Bathrooms and Lifestyle Kitchens.
The company continues investing in its store estate and digital capabilities. Eight stores were refitted or refreshed during the half, and Wickes plans four to five new openings in the second half as it works toward a longer-term target of 300 locations.
Trading strengthened further entering the third quarter, with Retail like-for-like revenue growth accelerating to the mid-single-digit range. Wickes remains on track to meet market expectations for approximately 10% growth in adjusted profit before tax during 2026 despite continued uncertainty in the consumer environment.
The company expects approximately £40 million of capital expenditures during 2026 as it accelerates store openings and continues investing in IT systems and customer experience.
